There are lots of things to see and do in Marin when you’ve got a young one, such as:

WildCare Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital – This safehaven for wild animals in San Rafael treats more than 4,000 wild animals each year, and has a museum and courtyard where you can stroll for free and see some of the “Wildlife Ambassadors” (animals who live there) every day. WildCare’s courtyard and museum are open to the public seven days a week from 9am to 5pm.

Bay Area Discovery Museum – A Sausalito museum described as a fantastic place where toddlers to ten year olds and their families can make interesting discoveries in art, science and media. Free Second Saturdays for Families from 1 – 5 p.m. The rest of the time, it’s $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for kids over one year.

doodlebug – Creative headquarters for Marin families, offering pottery painting, toys, arts/crafts supplies including ceramic and mosaic materials, classes and a fantastic party room.

Hiking in Marin with Baby and Hiking with Toddlers in Marin County are great resources for baby-friendly hikes, including strollers, baby backpacks and more.

And, venturing beyond our county’s borders, you’ll find:

Play Cafe in Oakland, which features a vast play area for kids and a cafe for parents.
