Our community has a fair amount of childcare resources, such as:
Parents Place of Marin
Marin Child Care Council (Incidentally, this is the organization responsible for expanding opportunities for children with disabilities and other special needs in child care and development programs in our county.)
Marin Child Care Council’s astonishingly complete page for Child Care Programs with Websites (If you don’t click on any other link here, visit this one.)
Marin.org’s page on Child Care
Craigslist.org NorthBay Child Care page
Canal Child Care Center
Marin Family Child Care Association’s Child Care and Preschool Referral List
Marin YMCA
New Moon Daycare
North Bay Children’s Center
Osher Marin JCC Kid Care program (for JCC members)
Be sure to check out the Marin Family Child Care Assocation as well to find learn about this “non-profit organization dedicated to educate, empower, support and advocate for licensed Family Child Care providers”. Good to know if the child care organization you’re considering is a member.
Also, visit the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network page for parents, which has a number of great links, including info about tax credits for working families and how to get free help finding child care in California.
And, if you’re of a mind to find out what’s going on with our state-mandated local Child Care Planning Council, visit the County of Marin’s Child Care Commission. (And by all means, report back on what you find out.)
What’s your experience with these resources? Do you have any others to share? Let us know.
