Barefoot & Pregnant A personal favorite, and not only because my friend Stacy Denney is the brains behind this great spa/resource for mothers-to-be, but also because it’s just a wonderful place to visit.

Heller’s for Children Boy, have we been here a few times already. Who knew this place was practically right behind Elephant Pharmacy in San Rafael. (Oh right, parents in Marin knew.) Ever since my husband mentioned that the name reminded him of the song “Hell is for Children” by Pat Benatar, well, that’s their jingle for us now. Sing it with me. Heller’s for Children!!!

Elephant Pharmacy Speaking of Elephant, these guys are great, and not just because they have a wealth of stuff for kids (including the glorious Ugly Dolls, which play a prominent roll in my baby registry), but because they’re great folks running a great pharmacy. And I’ve never said that about any pharmacy anywhere, ever.
